C’est la Vie

A young man walks into the restaurant, carrying his bag on the left shoulder. He looks a little tired as if he has been on the road for some time. There is live music playing on the stage, where the dancers move with passion and the singer awes the audience with voices from his soul. The young man stands by the door, quietly enjoys the scene.

It is not too late in the evening yet. Out on the street there is still sun shine from before the sun sets. There are few pedestrians walking. It is actually not too cold today for a coastal town. Through the clear window one can see what’s going on inside the restaurant.

By the bar there are several women sitting on the stools; some having drinks while others listening to the performance. This gypsy looking lady claps along with the dancers, and they all cheer spontaneously.

Further away at a quieter corner there is this young couple, dressed casually and chatting occasionally. They don’t seem to be too intimate, yet you can tell they are having a good time by the smiles on their faces. There are some tapas left on the plate, along with a half glass of gazpacho.

Behind them sits this older couple who are the frequenter of the restaurant on Sundays. The lady chit chat with the server while exchanging smiles with other customers. The gentleman sits still and listens with patience. They have settled in this place after a short trip long time ago discovering the beauty and culture of what this town offers. Now they are the locals.

It is just another Sunday evening in this part of the town. Nothing is unusual and yet everything is significant, in the circle of events and life to those in the existence.
